We are a Registered Charity

Did you know that Bridge View Light Railway is a registered charity!

This is a huge milestone in our journey — and it reflects the dedication, passion, and countless hours of hard work from our incredible team of volunteers who keep the railway running and growing.

What Does This Mean?

Becoming a charity helps secure the long-term future of Bridge View Light Railway. It means we can:

  • Apply for more funding and grants to improve and expand our facilities

  • Support our community more effectively through inclusive events and volunteer opportunities

  • Offer more structured roles and training for those looking to develop skills or give back

Still Run by Volunteers, For the Community

Even though we’re now a charity, our core values haven’t changed. Bridge View remains a volunteer-led, family-friendly miniature railway with a passion for heritage, education, and fun.

We’ll continue to rely on the amazing support of our volunteer team — and we’re always looking for new people to get involved! Whether you’re into engines, gardening, ticketing, or just chatting to visitors, there’s a role for everyone here.

Want to Support Us?

Now that we’re a charity, every donation makes a difference — no matter how big or small. It helps us maintain the track, restore our buildings, and keep the experience magical for all our visitors.

Thank you for being part of the journey so far. Here's to a new chapter as a charity — and many more miles of smiles!
